What is a clinical trial?
A clinical trial is research that confirms the safety and efficacy of a new drug or therapy in humans. It is conducted under strict regulatory and ethical standards, with approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and review by the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Phases
- Phase 1: A small group of healthy volunteers โ checks safety and dosage.
- Phase 2: Patients with the target condition โ explores efficacy and side effects.
- Phase 3: A large group of patients โ verifies effectiveness against standard treatment.
- Phase 4: Post-market long-term safety monitoring.
Participant protection
Participant health and safety come first. Before the trial you receive a full explanation and sign an informed consent form (ICF), and you may voluntarily stop participating at any time. Medical staff closely monitor your health throughout the trial.
